My First Bicycle School began in April 2010 as a six day workshop run by Spoke'n'Chain, that gave participating educational and community arts practitioners a hands-on introduction to the art of decorating bicycles for fun, for carnivals and parades or purely as a piece of art.
Running concurrently alongside the workshops was an Exhibition of costumed bicycles at the Create Centre, Bristol. Some of the work produced in My First Bicycle School of Arts was displayed in this rolling exhibition that stayed up for two years in the end, it was that loved.
Feedback and input from this course went towards creating a handbook for bicycle costuming in preparation for Bristols first Freewheelin' Carnival in September 2010.
